It's gotten to the point whereso manufacturers make them cheap and feckless to avoid blinding other drivers during normal conditions that they're absolutely worthless in fog. Drivers leave their fog lights on, and other see foglights on always, so they leave theirs on. Seriously, they're not driving lights, that's why they turn off when you turn on your highbeams.

There are occasions here in Indiana where they might be useful.
